  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Mood Disorders

  • Impulse Control/Anger

  • Adjustment/Transitional Issues: Anything new requires adjustment; even in ways we might not think...There are developmental transitions across the lifespan from childhood to adolescence, late adolescence to young adulthood through adulthood related to education, relationships, employment and identity. Adjustment is a style and skill!

  • Social/Relational Issues: difficulty forming intimate relationships, identifying and improving unhealthy relationship patterns...not understanding these patterns can leave us feeling helpless to change them. That doesn't make it so; recognizing patterns and understanding their roots is the first step.

  • Grief/Loss: The truth is that we grieve anything that we lose that is important to us, be that a person, a job, a relationship or a favorite pen! We even grieve the loss of an idea. Of course, the intensity of the grief varies greatly, as does our ability to accept the loss, but the process is the same. Understanding the process and what might be preventing us from moving through the stages of grief can be key in finding acceptance.

  • Substance Abuse: The level of care that I can provide requires individuals not be actively dependent on a substance to the extent that it moderately-severely impacts functioning or discontinuation of the substance would require inpatient stablization (alcohol, benzodiapines, opiates, cocaine). I am happy to support individuals in finding the most appropriate level of care, if I am unable to provide myself.

  • Family Members of Individuals in Addiction/Recovery: I have worked extensively both with individuals active in addiction and in recovery, as well as families of individuals who are addicted. Providing education, support and resources about how to set and maintain healthy boundaries can promote a sense of control and security that living with someone struggling with recovery can upset.

  • Life/Accountability Coaching: One of the main benefits of regular sessions is establishing a base of accountability, that you do what you've established you want to do. The goal is to transition that accountability from me/our work, to you.
